About the Cost of Living API
Cost of Living uses regional Consumer Price Index data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to calculate relative cost indices. The national average is set to 100, so an index of 120 means 20% more expensive than average. Data is aggregated by Census region (Northeast, Midwest, South, West) for large metro areas.

Paths are relative to data. Premium fields are absent rather than zeroed on plans that do not include them, so check for presence instead of comparing to 0.

Response headers
Every response carries your balance, so your own code always knows where it stands without polling anything. All four are exposed to browsers through CORS.

Errors
Read the HTTP status first, then error for the specific reason. The body names the parameter that has to change.
