Skills measured

Three skill areas, weighted equally

Each course is one skill area, 10 questions each, drawn fresh for every attempt.

Extract Web Content

33%
  • Convert pages to plain text or heading-aware Markdown and chunk them for retrieval
  • Build link previews from Open Graph metadata with sane fallbacks, and expand short links safely
  • Capture screenshots and copy them to your own storage before the signed link expires
  • Read RSS feeds as JSON instead of scraping, and generate valid XML sitemaps
  • Choose the cheapest API that answers the question, and know what each one leaves out

Analyze Websites

33%
  • Run an automated SEO check on titles, descriptions, headings and canonicals
  • Detect a website's tech stack and weigh confidence before acting on it
  • Combine WHOIS, domain age, DNS and SSL data into trust signals and monitors
  • Score readability, reading time and keywords as a content QA gate
  • Decide which checks are worth their credits and which belong on a schedule

Build Data Pipelines

33%
  • Crawl within robots.txt, crawl-delay and per-host rate limits, with caching and a small concurrency queue
  • Turn extracted text into records with a trusted language, keywords, a summary and a search key
  • Monitor pages for changes with normalisation, hashing and confirmation that keep false alarms out
  • Build an idempotent feed-to-store pipeline that resumes after a crash and stops when credits run out
  • Account for every credit a run spends and reconcile it against your balance

What to expect

How exam APV-210 works

Two kinds of question

Most are multiple choice: a scenario, a snippet of code or a response, and four options. A few are hands-on: the exam shows you a real API request, you run it, and type the value from the live response. Those runs are free and don't use your credits.

Hands-on answers need a real run

A hands-on answer counts only if you ran its request during the exam. Running the call is the skill being measured.

Timed, open book

You have 60 minutes from the moment you start. The lessons and the docs are fair game, which is how you'll work on the job anyway.

A score report, pass or fail

Scores are out of 1000 and 700 passes. Pass or fail, you get a report of how you did in each skill area, saved to your account to print or keep as a PDF.

Retakes

If you don't pass, you can retake the exam after 24 hours. After two attempts in a row without a pass, the next one opens after 7 days.

Your credential

Pass and you're issued a credential ID with a public verification page, one-click LinkedIn and a shareable transcript. It's valid for three years, and renewal is free.

Certification questions.

About APV-210 and the credential.

Talk to the team →
Is the exam proctored?
No. It's an open-book online exam. The hands-on questions keep it honest: an answer only counts if you ran its request during the exam.
Does the certification expire?
Yes. Associate certifications are valid for three years from the date you pass, so the credential reflects the platform as it is now. Renewal is free: from six months before the expiry date until six months after it, pass a 15-question, 30-minute assessment and the same credential ID is valid for another three years. Renewing early doesn't cost you any time.
Does it cost anything?
No. The courses, the exam and the credential are free, and the exam's hands-on requests don't use your credits.
Do I need another certification first?
No, but APV-100 covers the HTTP, JSON, error handling and key safety that this path assumes. If any of that is new, start there.
Can I change the name on my certificate?
You set the name when you start the exam. If it needs correcting after you've passed, contact us from the account that holds the credential.

Other certifications

Each one is its own three-course path and exam.
